FoYPiB Helps Fund a Trike

FoYPiB gives a small grant towards a trike for a boy with Cerebral Palsy.

              

We recently received an application from a parent of a boy with Cerebral Palsy.  The boy was desperate to ride a bike but after many attempts it was realised the best way forward for the youngsters was a specialist trike.

The trike from ‘Tom Cat’ gives him the confidence he needs that he won’t fall off because of the extra supports in place.  It has boosted his self esteem and supported his independence.

As we are only a small grant giving charity, we were only able to support with a small amount towards the trike, but every little helps and it’s lovely to see the local family is now able to enjoy bike rides together.

Our board of Trustees decide which applications are awarded grants at their board meeting, which take place 6 times a year.  They take each application on a case-to-case basis.  Before applying please ensure you meet our criteria by reading Who can apply and Understanding the Process.
