Welbeck Estate 10K Fun Run/Walk

This year’s annual 10K Fun Run/Walk around the Welbeck Estate was a huge success, the sun shone, spirits were high, and everybody had a fantastic time walking and running the amazingly beautiful course.

2025 was the best Welbeck Estate Fun Run/Walk on record!  The 10K held on Sunday 11th May attracted 340 participants raising over £4500 for the charity.  Amongst the 340 runners were 25 young people who equally enjoyed the stunning scenery of the Welbeck Estate.  The event was very well organised with a water station at the start/finish as well as three additional water stations enroute.  All runners and walkers that completed the course were awarded a 10K medal with the charity’s logo on a purple ribbon. The first runner over the finish line was Thomas Shaw, a member of the Worksop Harriers who completed the course in just 35 minutes, Jane was the first female to finish shortly after.  3 young people were awarded a trophy on completion – Oakley aged 9, Miley aged 14 and Lloyd aged 8.

As part of this event Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw were supporting ‘Move More in May’ and as such the mascots Unicorn and Bluey made a welcome appearance.

The event was supported by volunteers and Trustees of the charity, Worksop Rotary club, Bassetlaw Place Based Partnership, Valley Young Peoples Centre and Carlton-in-Lindrick Youth Club.  We had 32 volunteers in total, amongst which, 4 were young people who gave up their time on a Sunday morning to come along and help.  A massive ‘thank you’ to everyone who made this event possible! Special thanks too, to Alison Swan Parente, the owner of the estate and the charities President for allowing us to hold this fabulous event.

If you would like to join us for this event next year, check on our ‘Events’ page for more information from March 2025.  You will be able to secure your place as soon as we have a date!
