Councillors Birthday Gift to FoYPiB

Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw are delighted to receive a donation of over £1000 from Councillor Sanger as she celebrated her 90th birthday.

A Bassetlaw Councillor has celebrated a milestone birthday by donating over £1,000 to Focus on Young People.

Cllr Joan Sanger, MBE and Ward Member for Beckingham recently turned 90 and instead of receiving presents, she asked family and friends to make a donation towards FoYPiB.

Cllr Sanger said: “I would like to thank most sincerely everyone who gave a donation to such a good cause.

The charity does outstanding work in the community for our young people to prepare them for the next stage of their life. I hope this donation will go a long way in helping more young people in Bassetlaw and securing a long-term future for the charity.”

Noelle Barron, the charity Development Manager said: “The Charity would like to congratulate Cllr. Sanger on her 90th Birthday. The Trustees of Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw are very appreciative of the funding Joan has raised through donations to support the charity’s work.

We are immensely proud of the work we do to support young people across Bassetlaw and thrilled that this work is recognised and valued.”

The donation from Cllr. Sanger will be used to support children and young people in the rural areas around Retford, including Beckingham, Walkeringham and Misterton.
