Charity Quiz Night

The annual Quiz Night at Retford Oaks Academy is a fabulous fundraising event.  This years Quiz with cheese and wine attracted 32 teams and raised £1600 for the charity.

This year’s quiz was held in the dining hall at Retford Oaks Academy on Thursday 16th November.

We attracted 29 teams of four, who all had an amazing night!

Each team of 4  received a complimentary bottle of wine along with cheese and crackers for their table. There was a licensed bar to buy another bottle of wine as well as soft drinks and tea and coffee.  Many thanks to Alison Swan Parente, who donated the Stichelton cheese from the Welbeck Farm shop and also to Rob Brookes from Kilton Forest Golf Club who ran the bar for us.

The event raised £1300 which will be used to support children and young people across Bassetlaw.

Thanks to everybody who volunteered to help this event run smoothly and all who donated a raffle prize, to Retford Oaks for providing the perfect venue and to our amazing presenters from Post 16 Worksop.

This year’s winning team, with a very respectable score of 88.5 was ‘When Ali met Sally’ who get to keep the FoYPiB trophy for the year!

A great night was had by all, and we have received some very positive feedback as well as raising an amazing amount of money for the charity.
