Charity Quiz Night

The annual Quiz Night at Retford Oaks Academy is a fabulous fundraising event.  This years Quiz with cheese and wine attracted 32 teams and raised £1600 for the charity.

This year’s quiz was held in the dining hall at Retford Oaks Academy on Thursday 17th November.

We attracted 32 teams, which was an amazing turn out, especially as it was a very wet evening and there was local flooding in the area.

Each team of 4 paid £30 and received a complimentary bottle of wine along with cheese and crackers for their table. There was a licensed bar to buy another bottle of wine as well as soft drinks and tea and coffee.  Many thanks to Alison Swan Parente, who donated the Stichelton cheese from the Welbeck Farm shop and also to Rob Brookes from Kilton Forest Golf Club who ran the bar for us.

Thanks too to everybody who donated a raffle prize, which added to the total raised of £1600! As well as all our helpers and volunteers and of course Retford Oaks for providing the perfect venue!

This year’s winning team, with a massive score of 97 points was ‘Three Wise Men & Their Carer’ who get to keep the FoYPiB trophy for the year!

A great night was had by all, and we have received some very positive feedback as well as raising an amazing amount of money for the charity.
