Sewhat is a Fashion Extravaganza celebrating creativity.
Young people from a range of organisations across Bassetlaw have a blank canvas to create an article of clothing or an accessory that can be exhibited down the catwalk, in front of an audience of up to 350 spectators. Last year’s Sewhat attracted over 250 young people who either took part on stage, or helped behind the scenes with either costume, makeup, props or the general smooth running of the event. Jay Pollitt professionally choreographs the groups. Young people from Post 16 compare the show and help coordinate backstage.
This show is a brilliant opportunity for young people to demonstrate their skills and take part in a community event. The event offers many volunteering experiences that can help to develop transferable skills for the future.
