Ryan Goes To Camp America

   

Ryan is a young person that has worked with the charity for the last 5 years.  He has performed with a group of college students at the Focus on You event, taking an active part within the group.  As he grew in confidence, he decided he would like to do a solo performance.  For this he signed using Makaton sign language, to the song 'This is Me' from the Greatest Showman.  The following year, 2025, Ryan decided to sing and sign at the event.  He has grown in confidence over the years, which has shown in his performance.  Taking part in the events has led to him securing a volunteering role at The Majestic Theatre in Retford as technical support.  He was also chosen to perform at the Chairman of the Council's Civic Service. 

Everyone that knows Ryan is immensely proud of the progress he has made.  Over the past few years, Ryan has enjoyed trips abroad to Camp America, where he has volunteered and supported other young people.  Before his latest trip, he applied to Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw for a small grant, which he used to purchase the visa.  He had a wonderful time at Appel Farm Arts Camp and really enjoyed visiting New York on his trip.
