Support For The MOB!

The MOB are a Musical Theatre Youth group based in Retford with membership from across Bassetlaw. We provide training for young people in theatre arts and are celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2023. 

The MOB have had a long association with Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw, and we are immensely grateful for their ongoing support and friendship. As a self-funding not for profit group we are reliant on our members fees and fundraising to be able to provide a quality experience for our young members. The MOB have benefitted over the years from donations from FoYPiB for key pieces of equipment including money towards staging, microphones and loudspeakers. During the most challenging period of covid lockdown we continued to provide a service to our young people online and again FoYPiB supported our endeavours with a donation towards running costs, we received so many messages of thanks from parents as MOB rehearsals online were the one thing their children looked forward to each week during the long months of lockdown.  

The MOB prides itself on being as accessible to young people as possible and in the confidence and skills it develops in its young people. This year we will be celebrating our anniversary with a gala concert where we will have a special focus on over 30 young people who have gone onto professional careers in the theatre industry after being a MOB member without the support of FoYPiB and other similar benefactors The Mob wouldn’t be the popular successful and award-winning group it is today.
