Welfare Packs for Vulnerable Children & Young People

FoYPiB buys and delivers Wellbeing Packs for vulnerable Young People during Covid-19 pandemic.

Depite lockdown FoYPiB have remained focused on helping Young People throughout Bassetlaw who need it most!  The 2020 welfare packs, or ‘Goody Bags’ as they were called were age and gender appropriate with the contents providing different types of entertainment, crafting, colouring, games, balls, books, baking, sewing, toiletries, bubbles, sweets and chocolate.  We  identified the recipients of the goody bags through schools, government services and local councillors and managed to deliver across a huge cross section of Bassetlaw, initially helping out 480 individuals and 50 families.  The packs evolved and continued to flourish, spreading joy and happiness to many individuals and families across our corner of the county.  In 2021 the packs have continued, this time containing personal and domestic hygiene products as well as cake mixes and things to do for the younger recipients.  These wellbeing packs were delivered to a number of younger families across Bassetlaw as well as individuals.  Since the beginning of the pandemic FoYPiB have provided 698 individuals and 275 families with a pack and they have all been exceptionally well received.  FoYPiB are very grateful to all that have donated and supported throughout this project, including Notts County Council, Bassetlaw District Councillors, Retford Rotary Club, Worksop Rotary Club, individual donations, Morrison’s Worksop, B&M Worksop & Carlton-in-Lindrick Knights FC.
