About Us
Based in Worksop, our charity supports young people in Bassetlaw aged between 8-25 yrs. old. We raise funds, by holding several events throughout the year, to find out more go to the events page.
The charity has a Grant Giving Trust, small grants can be awarded to Individuals and Groups within the Bassetlaw area. To see if you are eligible please check the criteria.
Our work supports young people, to gain confidence, learn new transferrable skills and reach goals that will help them achieve their full potential.
AIMS OF THE CHARITY
Focus on Young people in Bassetlaw aims to enable young people in Bassetlaw realise their aspirations and support their ambitions so that they can reach their full potential. To do this the Charity can provide funding and information to individuals and young people’s organisations, including some projects within schools.
The Funding Programme can assist young people aged 8 – 25 with projects, ideas and experiences that will help develop them personally, increasing skills that help prepare them for life and future employment.

Creative Showcase ‘Focus on You!’
Focus’ flagship event ‘Focus on You’ returns to North Notts Arena, Worksop, on 25th March 2026. This extravaganza of creativity is a real celebration of children and young people from across Bassetlaw.
Welbeck Estate Fun Run/Walk
Each year the charity holds a 10K fun run/walk around the Welbeck Estate. Next year’s 10K will be on Sunday 10th May at 10.30 a.m.
Charity Quiz Night
The annual Quiz Night at Retford Oaks Academy is a fabulous fundraising event. This years Quiz with cheese and wine will be on Thursday 20th November 2025, 7.00 for 7.30 pm. £40 per team of 4.
Charity Golf Competition Sat 14th June 2025
The charity holds an Am-Am Stableford golf competition every year at Kilton Forest Golf Club. This years charity golf event will be on Saturday 14th June with tee times between 10 am and 12 Midday.
Welbeck Estate Fun Run/Walk
Each year the charity holds a 10K fun run/walk around the Welbeck Estate. This year’s 10K will be on Sunday 11th May at 10.30 a.m.
Giant Hogweed play Retford Town Hall
Back to popular demand The Giant Hogweed are Playing Retford Town Hall with proceeds going to Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw on Friday 21st February 2025.
