RANBY FOOTBALL CLUB

The funding provided by FOCUS was used to purchase essential equipment that supported both training sessions and matchdays throughout the season, including: 

• Additional footballs to support growing squad numbers and training activities. 

• Replacement goal nets to ensure facilities remained safe and fit for purpose. 

• New training equipment to improve the quality and variety of coaching sessions. 

These resources enabled us to deliver engaging, structured training sessions and maintain a positive environment for all players. 

Impact on the Players 

The impact of the donation has been significant. Throughout the season, the players have: 

• Developed their football skills and understanding of the game. 

• Built strong friendships and social connections. 

• Improved confidence, teamwork and communication skills. 

• Benefited from regular physical activity and positive wellbeing outcomes. 

• Become part of a supportive football community. 

Many of the friendships formed through football have extended beyond the pitch and have positively influenced other aspects of the players’ lives and wellbeing. 

Hayley Beard, who submitted the application to FoYPiB on behalf of the club said:

"On behalf of everyone at Ranby Football Club, we would like to express our sincere thanks to FOCUS for their generous donation and support during our first season as a football club. 

Your contribution helped us provide young people from across Bassetlaw, including Worksop, Retford and the surrounding areas, with the opportunity to learn and play football in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. Our focus from the beginning has been to create a positive atmosphere where children can develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team, without the pressure of having to win.

The players demonstrated tremendous commitment, resilience and sportsmanship, throughout the season making coaches, volunteers and parents incredibly proud."
